Simple tips to get rid of dark spots on your face

Dark spots on your face can make you look older than you actually are. And even though aging is inevitable, don’t we all want to look younger?

The good news though is that you can get rid of those dark spots with simple tips from the comfort of your home. Whether the spots are a result of acne, allergy or diseases such as chicken pox, these tips can help in getting rid of the blemishes:

Drink lots of water

If you can hack drinking 8-10 glasses of water each day, you are good to go. Water clears the toxins in your body leaving your skin clear and supple. This is an easy and affordable way to clear your skin. But also be careful not to drink more water than your body requires.

Lemon juice

Lemon has antiseptic and acidic properties. The antiseptic features help in killing the bacteria on the spot while the acidic features bleach the spot. All you do is rub fresh lemon juice on the spot and leave it for 30 minutes before rinsing your face. Do this twice a day until you see results.

Onion juice

This may sound gross but you will like the results. Blend a red onion to extract the juice and rub it on the spot using a cotton ball. After 15 minutes, rinse off. You should start seeing changes in no time if you are consistent.

Aloe vera

You can get fresh aloe vera in the market. It has so many health benefits and it’s also great for the skin. It nourishes your skin, prevents aging and removes dark spots. It also has antiseptic properties and will thus deal with any bacteria present on your face. Apply it on the spots and leave it to dry. It also acts as a moisturizer and you can thus stay with it all day unless it bothers you.

Potato

The bleaching properties found in potatoes help in getting rid of the dark spots. The starch also helps in reducing hyperpigmentation. Peel the potato, clean it well and slice it into thin round pieces. Then place the slices directly on the spot and wait for 10 minutes. Rinse your face with warm water and moisturize.
